Founded by Charles Townsend Ludington and Wallace Kellett, Ludington Exhibition Co became Ludington Philadelphia Flying Service in 1926, using a new airfield that became PHL. Dallin Aerial Surveys, run by former RAF pilot Victor Dallin, also moved here and apparently made use of this FC-2 too as it is posing here in front of their office with aerial cameras, likely also made by Fairchild. On 15th January 1929 this was the first American aircraft to fly over the Antarctic. Named 'Stars and Stripes' and was on loan from the National Air and Space Museum.

The FC-2 was the series variant of the FC-1 prototype, which had been designed for Fairchild's own aerial photography business. NC5574 was originally registered to Fairchild Aerial Surveys.
