Operated by 230 Squadron, XW215 was written off on June 24th 1991 on its return trip to its base at RAF Gutersloh West Germany. Its tail rotor failed over the English Channel shortly after departure from Manston and subsequently ditched, all three crew were rescued. The colour scheme is a result of its service in the Gulf War. This photo is copyright © Shaun Connor, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
