Founded 1962 Sterling Airways ceased operations 1993. Reorganized as Sterling European 1994 dropping "European" titling in 1998. Renamed Sterling Airlines 2005 after acquisition of Maersk but ceased operations again in 2008. Purchased by Cimber operating as Cimber Sterling until final shut down 2012.
