Under the watchful eyes of the Pan Am station representative two deicing vehicles struggle to clear Clipper Kreuzberg for its Tegel schedule, note slats and flaps fully extented for deicing and anticing process. Holdover time certainly would not exceed 15 minutes if at all. The crew of the SAR Huey could be sure they would not be scrambled during such weather conditions.

K25 slide scan. Built 1981 and assigned to 509TFS 81TFW at Bentwaters UK. Unit moved to Alconbury 1988 as part of 10TFW. Overran runway at Alconbury 4 April 1989 with the pilot ejecting and the aircraft being damaged beyond repair however cosmetically repaired and transferred to USAF Museum redesignated as GA-10A for display at the base. Moved to Bentwaters Cold War Museum BCWM 2016 for further display there. Had made a precautionary landing due to technical problems.

K25 slide scan. This is how the physical deregistration of an aircraft works. A local scrap dealer had bought the last two remaining CSA Il-18's OK-VAF and OK-PAI. Having flown in earlier that morning on its final flight from Prague the accompanying technician had checked over the aircraft one last time and then put an aerosol can of black paint into action obliterating all traces of identity. The aircaft, stripped of engines, outer wings and cockpit section was used for a while for fire training before being scrapped.
