Modified from a Tudor II, and used by the National Gas Turbine Establishment for testing the Conway jet engine in a pod under the fuselage. It was delivered to Farnborough on 4 September 1955 and was struck off charge on 13 February 1962. The remains are seen here near the water pressure tank used in the structural tests on Comet G-ALYU. The fuselage section is now at Newark Air Museum. This photo is copyright © Chris England, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
