Kodachrome slide taken by John B Hayes. The 727 seen in Nome delivering supplies. Alaska operated "combis" with passengers and freight in the cabins to these remote locations. This is the "Prospector" livery, one of the four used in the early-mid 1970s. The history of the origins of this tail scheme are still vague but many say it was a liking of prospector and "con" artist Soapy Smith from the Klondike Gold Rush era.
