Exploded and crashed in the village of Zabbar (approx. 3.5 miles from Luqa) on 14.10.75 after sustaining damage when it hit the undershoot of runway 24 during an aborted landing at Luqa; the two pilots ejected safely; three crew and two crew chiefs trapped on board were killed, along with one female civilian on the ground. Photo taken about four hours after the crash, with the RAF fire tender still on site and smoke still coming out of the wreckage. Aircraft was with 9 Squadron.
