Still painted in the colours of its former operator Delta Air Lines, where it flew as N741DA, this Kyrgyz registered Tristar was a rather unexpected exotic visitor for Amsterdam. Word had it that Jordanian company Sky Gate International was the new owner of the aircraft whom had leased the L-1011 to Turkish operator Onur Air. It was said that this aircraft triggered the local authorities to look a bit closer into the safety of the airline. It is unknown whether one had to do with the other but Sky Gate eventually ended up on the list of carriers banned in the European Union.
