Word had it that Jordanian company Sky Gate International was the new owner of the aircraft whom had leased the L-1011 to Turkish operator Onur Air. It was said that this aircraft triggered the local authorities to look a bit closer into the safety of the airline. It is unknown whether one had to do with the other but Sky Gate eventually ended up on the list of carriers banned in the European Union.

In February 2002 the plane went to Air Universal as 9L-LDE, after which it was leased out short-term to Star Air (Saudia Arabian) and Sudan Airways but was operating again for Air Universal by August 2004 but two years later it was in storage at Tehran (THR) as 9L-LDE. There are reports that it was at some point re-registered EP-LDE but the frame is now on display at the Tehran Aerospace Exhibition as 9L-LDE.
