This aircraft was one of 32 Boeing 737s ordered by Australian Airlines, being delivered on 10 September 1990. However, less than a month later it was leased to Malaysian Airlines as 9M-MLD. In October 1992 it reverted to VH-TJI and a month later was leased to Air Vanuatu, retaining its Australian registration. In April 1998 VH-TJI returned to Qantas operation, which had by then taken over Australian Airlines. Named 'Cloncurry' in Qantas service.
