Delivered in Jul-1944 to the USAAF as 43-48192, it went to the RAF in Aug-1944 as Dakota Mk.III KG776. In Jul-1946 it became G-AHLZ with the UNRRA - United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration. In Dec-1947 it was bought by JAT as YU-ABI, but delivered only in Jan-1949. It was withdrawn from service in 1970. It was destined for Yemen, but this fell through. and it was stored at Belgrade. In 1973 N94480 was allocated, but not taken up. The same with N94437 in 1974. In the end it was brought to a compound at the Muzej Vazduhoplovstva Beograd. This photo is copyright © Peter Vercruijsse, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
