The Beech Starship with no centrally located vertical tail, canards and a pusher engine/propeller configuration was certainly distictive. It is, though, most noteworthy for being the first non-military aircraft certified by the FAA to have a carbon fibre composite airframe. This example, one of relatively few survivors from the 53 built, is on display at the Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham, Alabama. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
