This U-4B was used by President Dwight Eisenhower from 1956 - 1960 for flights from Washington, D.C. to his farm in Gettysburg, VA. From 1961 - 1969 it was used by high ranking government officials for shorter flights. Transferred to the USAF Academy in 1969 and used by the skydiving team through 1977. After a short stint in storage at Tucson, it was assigned to the Nebraska Civil Air Patrol. It was acquired by the museum in 1996 from a private owner and put on display. It is currently in the Presidential Aircraft Gallery. This photo is copyright © Bob Thomas, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
