This former RCAF DHC-1 attended the 60th anniversary Chipmunk fly-in at Downsview Airport in Toronto staged by the Toronto Aerospace Museum in late May 2006, 60 years after the prototype flew at the same location on May 22, 1946. The aircraft is parked on the ramp outside the wartime DHC factory that built DH 82C Tiger Moths, Anson IIs and Mosquitos and the postwar Chipmunk, Beaver and Otter before a new DHC factory opened in Sep. 1954 to the south. This aircraft has been owned by Terri Garrison and Don Shackketon since July 1980 and is based at Oshawa Airport (YOO) east of Toronto. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
