When disembarked, 892 NAS was based at RAF Leuchars. The Omega symbol shown on the tail denoted the perception when the squadron was formed that it would be the last UK fixed wing naval carrier unit. This particular aircraft performed the last catapult launch from a British aircraft carrier, taking off from HMS Ark Royal on 27 November 1978. This photo is copyright © David A.
