VH-AIA was the first Islander sold in Australia. Britten-Norman hoped Australia would be a major market for its aircraft, particular taking into account the then territory of Papua New Guinea. And they not to be disappointed. In 1979 -AIA went to PNG (as P2-ISR) where Islanders had become a vital part of local air services. Photo scanned from a poor colour neg.
