Following its deployment to Alconbury (UK) with the 1st TRS, this RF-4C was transferred to the 38th TRS at Zweibrucken (Germany). It was retired on 21 April 1991 and became an aircraft battle damage repair instructional airframe at Ramstein up to April 2018. The recce Phantom was brought into shape again and is preserved at Ramstein since June 2020.
