This former BOAC VC10 (G-ARVG) started airline service in June 1964 after six months of crew training as the type was introduced. After BOAC merged with British European Airways to form British Airways, this aircraft was leased, then sold to Gulf Air (A4O-VG) in June 1974. Retired in 1977, it was among nine airline VC 10s the RAF bought in 1978 for tanker conversion. ZA141 was the first tanker to fly in June 1982 and is pictured after recent painting in the new Hemp color scheme - what a sight and what a sound. Retired in 1999, it was scrapped at St. Athan in 2001.
