Chanute AFB was still active when I took this slide. This F-100C was redesignated a GF-100C in February 1963 and was used as a ground instructional airframe at Chanute AFB until September 1974. It then was painted in Thunderbird markings and put on display at the base. When the base closed it was transferred to the Chanute Air Museum.
