When this slide was taken Chanute AFB was still active. This aircraft was used as a ground instructional trainer, and when the AFB closed in 1993 it was transferred to the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum. The museum painted it as a T-38 flown by the USAF Thunderbirds. When the museum closed in 2015 it was transferred to the Frost Museum of Science in Miami, Florida.

Chanute AFB was still active when I took this slide. This F-100C was redesignated a GF-100C in February 1963 and was used as a ground instructional airframe at Chanute AFB until September 1974. It then was painted in Thunderbird markings and put on display at the base. When the base closed it was transferred to the Chanute Air Museum. In 2009 it was transferred to the Prairie Air Museum in Bloomington, IL. where it is on display.

This slide was taken when Chanute AFB was still active and was one of several a/c on display around the base. When the base closed it doesn't appear that this a/c became part of the Chanute Air Museum collection. It is currently on display at Kirkland AFB in New Mexico.

This slide was taken when Chanute AFB was still active. The a/c was being used as a ground instructional airframe. After the base closed this C-123 was on display there as part of the Octave Chanute Air Museum at least until 2002. Later the aircraft was donated to the SpringHill Summer Camp in Michigan where it currently resides as a sleep out for campers.
