E873 - D.H. 9A - was originally flown by No 39 Squadron in 1923. This original Whitehead Aircraft Company built D.H.9A was shipped to the Middle East in 1924 where it was fitted with an auxiliary radiator at the Hinaidi Aircraft Depot. It is shown here with No 84 Squadron flying from Shaibah in 1926, it is equipped for night flying and carrying a spare main wheel. The original date of the image taken is as shown however, this copy of the image is an official reprint by British Aerospace (No 7976C), date and photographer unknown. This photo was added on 31 May 2022, and has since been viewed 828 times.
