Ozark Airlines' first DC-9 (of fifty-one), this aircraft was delivered May 25, 1966. The main rival for Trans World Airlines out of their St Louis, MO main hub, Ozark was bought by the larger airline and merged by October 1986. N970Z was finally retired by TWA in 1999 and stored at Victorville, CA. It was sold to Capital Aircraft Parts in 2001 and later scrapped.
