The identity of this aircraft is not definite. It is not listed in Air Britain's DC-3 monograph but one source says it is N638NA. Air Britain says N638NA was acquired by NASA in 1961. NASA did not adopt civil registrations until around 1969 and used special NASA serials before then. Until evidence to the contrary is produced, NASA 236 has been listed as the same aircraft as N638NA.
