Originally built as an F-8C and later converted to F-8K. This a/c was retired on 17 July 1974. In 1977 there were several aircraft carriers homeported at NAS Alameda. The base had several retired aircraft that were used to train flight deck personnel how to tow and park aircraft, this being one of them.
