The C-27 will be used by the USCG as a more economical and adaptable replacement for their C-130 fleet. This C-27 was operated previously by L-3 Communications Vertex at Robins AFB as 10-27023 but had amassed only 108 hours before retirement to AMARG. It is the first to be delivered and is being used to train and qualify CG aircrew and maintenance personnel as well as developing flight and maintenance procedures.
