Photographer unknown. "November Alpha" is seen at Heathrow in August 1974, a few months after BOAC and BEA were merged into British Airways. Only a minimal livery change had taken place at this stage, with replacement of the BOAC titles with those of the new carrier. Later, the new BA tail colours were applied as a further interim measure before a repaint into full BA livery in 1977. G-AWNA was the first 747 to be delivered to a British airline, this taking place on 20 April 1970. It continued in service until 31 October 1998.
