Photographer not known. EI-ANJ was delivered to Aer Lingus on 24 April 1964, being the third and last Carvair acquired by the airline. Its time in service was quite short and it was retired from use in September 1966. In 1968 it was bought by Eastern Provincial as CF-EPW but this too proved not to be a long-term prospect. In 1973 it returned to Europe and became LN-NAA of Norwegian Oversea Airways and later Rorosfly. By 1975 it ended up in Bangkok and may have operated some Red Cross flights from there. It was scrapped in situ in the late 1980s.

An ill-fated aircraft: G-APEE crashed at Heathrow in fog on 27 October 1965, with the loss of all 36 people on board. The aircraft was on its third approach to land and crashed on runway 28R after the pilots became disorientated during an attempted go-around. The two other Vanguards in shot are most likely series 953s, as they have a larger BEA "red square" on the fin, this having become the standard style, while near the hangars, as well as an unidentified DC-8, two British Eagle DC-6As can be seen. (Photographer not known.)

A wonderful view of this Comet when it was less than a year old, having been delivered to the RAF in February 1962. In 1975, with the other RAF Comet C.4s, it was sold to Dan-Air, and flew for a further five years as G-BDIV. Photographer not known.
