Built as a PR9, and converted by Short for trials and research use. Flown from RAE Bedford to RAF St Mawgan on 24 September 1986 for use by the BDRF as 8915M. It was never used as such, and despite attempts by several individuals and groups to preserve it, the aircraft was sold for scrap to Henry Orchard, St Austell, in 1992. The nose section was rescued by Albino Panigarri and shipped to Italy. This photo is copyright © Chris England, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
