This Viggen was TOC by the Flygvapnet around 1982. In 1993 it then became the prototype for the conversion to JA-37D standard. This was an avionics and software upgrade of the older JA 37 version carried out between 1993 and 1998, of which some 35 airframes were modified. The plane was SOC in 2005 and transferred to this museum. which has since closed. This special tail is on the port side only. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
