This aircraft was built as Proctor 1 P6271 for the RAF. In 1946 it was civilianised as G-AHTV and sold in Australia in 1953 as VH-BCX. It was later sold to New Zealand where it has been restored to externally resemble a Vega Gull from which design the Proctor was developed.
