Richarda Morrow-Tait and her navigator Michael Townsend left Cambridge on 18 August 1948 in this Proctor - ex NP353 - for an eastward flight around the world. They crashed the aircraft in Alaska. Undaunted, Morrow-Tait raised money for a replacement, Vultee Valiant NX54084, and they managed to complete the flight, landing at Croydon after one year and one day. Taken on charge as LZ673, June 1943. Registered G-ALER -6 October 1948. Withdrawn from use at Stapleford in March 1955 and cancelled -4 June 1956. Subsequently sold to two further owners and noted on overhaul at Stapleford in October 1956 but that was not completed and the aircraft stood derelict there for some years. Again cancelled 25 May 1963 as PWFU. It was reportedly taken to Pocklington as a potential source of spares and was burnt on a bonfire there some time after 1963.

This aircraft is ex VH-BCM, a postwar civil aircraft that was withdrawn from use in 1957. In 1964, after Proctor 5s were grounded due to concerns about glues used in construction, it was donated to the Camden Museum of Aviation. It restored the aircraft as NP336, which was part of the Governor-General's Flight from 1945 to 1947. The real NP336 became VH-BNB. Peter Ricketts photo

Shipped from New Zealand to Australia in 1958 and reported to have been damaged during unloading in Melbourne. Trucked to Bankstown soon after arrival. It was 1960 before it was assembled but it never flew. Over the next two years weather and vandals reduced it to a wreck and it was burnt in 1963. Eric Allen photo

Manufactured in 1941, this Percival Proctor was acquired to represent the Percival Vega Gull used by Eddie Connellan, founder of Connellan Airways, to operate the first station mail run between Alice Springs and Wyndham in August, 1939 and is now marked as VH-ACM. The Proctor was a military version of the Vega Gull. VH-AVG was flown to Australia from the UK by Jack Williams in 1955. It was then purchased and flown by Mr K. Treloar of Olary, SA, until it was deemed non-airworthy in 1966 due to glue deterioration.
