This is one of the original eighteen aeroplanes specifically designed by Huff-Daland to perform aerial crop dusting. C.E. Woolman took over the company in 1928 and renamed it Delta Air Service. To generate extra revenue a seat was added in the duster bin to fly passengers and the company became the forerunner of Delta Air Lines.
