Former Irish Air Corps Vampire 186 getting some maintenance. The aircraft won first place in the jet race at Reno in 2015 wearing RAF warbird markings with fake serial WD186. The jet crashed at next year's race on September 16, 2016 when the aft section of canopy structurally failed and pieces were ingested into the engine. It crash landed wheels up in the desert near the Reno airport. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
