This MBB built Tornado flew first on 24 Feb'89 and was delivered to the Marineflieger (Germany Naval Aviation) on 27 Apr'89. It started to fly with Marinefliegergeschwader (MFG) 2. It carried a special colour scheme from '02-'05 and was transferred to the Luftwaffe in '05 when MFG 2 was disbanded. It was assigned to Aufklärungsgeschwader 51 that later was redesignated into Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51. Here the Tornado is seen with secondary markings (on the intake) from its deployment to Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan (between '07-'10).
