This Phantom was delivered to the Turkish Air Force on 7 April 1978 as part of the Peace Diamond II Foreign Military Sales programme. In 2001 it was modified to F-4E-2020. The Spook, seen here during the Electronic Warfare Live Training Exercise and blasting of the runway off Lechfeld, crashed near Malatya after experiencing a problem with its landing gear on 31 May 2019.
