slide scan from the NK collection. - The official merger of BOAC and BEA into the new "British Airways" was planned for July 1974, but this BAC 1-11 carried the new titles already in September 1973. However, the standard old BEA colours were still retained. - The aircraft should fly for British Airways for another 19 years before being sold to European Aircharter, and its service life finally ended in 1999, retired at Bournemouth.
