This 1958 United Airlines DC-8 got a new lease on life in 1983 when it was re-engined as a DC-8-71. Sold in 1989, the aircraft was leased back until returned to the lessor in 1991. Converted to a freighter, it was leased to Southern Air Transport 1992-93. It was next leased to Air Transport International in 1993 as N823BX and flown for Burlington Air Express.
