North Cariboo's only turbine Convair was first a 440 for Mokawk Airlines in 1958. It was converted to a Dart powered 640 by Spartan Aviation in 1967 and eventually registered in Canada as CF-PWO with Pacific Western Airlines in November 1971. Echo Bay Mines bought the aircraft in 1976 before North Cariboo got it in 1984. It was sold in the USA in 1986 to become N587CA flying freight for several airlines. Exported in 2015 and last seen at Saltillo, Mexico awaiting a new registration. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
