Two Avro-built Cierva C.30A autogyros were delivered to the German Air Ministry in November 1934. Focke-Wulf acquired a licence and completed an unknown number with the unconfirmed designation Fw 30 and name Heuschrecke (grasshopper). Known examples have D-E registrations but this airframe has a D-I reg, indicative of a higher weight class. Photo from Focke-Wulf archives and the major airport is assumed to be Bremen's, the large hangar looking the same as the one in photo 573422. Photo from: Imperial War Museums
