Approaching over a fortified beach on Kinmen (Quemoy). Shelling of this island by PRC artillery on the mainland started on 23 August 1958. According to online sources the island's old airfield on the west side closed that day, to be replaced by the current Shangyi airport (RCBS) at an unspecified date. Details about the airframe unknown - it seems to wear a FY 42 serial with six sequential digits but it cannot be deciphered.
