Acquired by the museum in 1988, this is C-46A 43-47350 marked as R5C-1 BuNo 39611. As this C-46 never was assigned to the USMC and the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover AFB, Delaware did not have a C-46 in their collection, the aircraft was transferred to Dover in May of 2023. It is currently undergoing restoration there.

A rather sad photo of this lonely and abandoned Commando that served so many, starting with the USAAF as 42-3679, but also the Israeli AF and many civil operators, up until SELVA Colombia as HK-3150 from 1984 until 1995 (the word 'Colombia' of its former operator is still visible). Unfortunately, this aircraft was scrapped in 2019.

In storage with Everts Air Fuel at Fairbanks, AK. Carries fading Interior Airways colours with Fairbanks Air Service titles. Taken on charge by the USAAF in 1944 as 42-96578. Became N4860V with Flying Tiger Line in 1952. Joined Interior Airways in 1956. Transferred to Fairbanks Air Service in 1972. Written off in 1975, landing short of the runway at Prudhoe Bay/Deadhorse Airport, AK. Acquired by Clifford R. Everts in 1976 as a source of spares. Aft fuselage used by Buffalo Airways to repair taxi accident damage to C-FAVO occurred in 2004.

Once there were three Curtiss Commandos at the aviation museum in Datangshang north of Beijing. One was moved to the Civil Aviation Museum in Beijing around 2010. All three were without serial, and remain with unknown construction numbers. This one is believed to be 36044 of the Chinese Air Force. Preserved on a ramp with two also unmarked Li2.

First registered in Colombia as HK1856 in 1976 with Villavicencio based Lineas Aereas La Urraca. Bought by Aeronorte in 1980 and impounded by the authorities in 1986. Reactivated by Aeronorte in 1991 and later flew for a short while with Lineas Aereas Suramericanas titles before being sold to Transoceanica de Aviacion in December 1993. Written off in a landing accident at Puerto Inirida in January 1994.

Smith Aircraft Corporation with c/r N1382N. October/55: Zantop Air Transport, Detroit Metro Airport. April/60: Re-registered as N611Z. March/68: Aviation Associates, GA. August/68: RALCO, Inc. October/73: Roger Wilcox. November/75 to October/89: Six owners. 2 October 89: National Naval Aviation Museum.

Thirty-six C-46Ds were purchased from USA and 12 from the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) that included the C-46A and C-46D. All C-46As were converted to C-46D standard. They started operating in 1955 from Tachikawa and by the Miho Detachment, which evolved into the Air Transport Wing comprising of the 401st and 402nd Sqn. Three at Iruma were used for ECM. This ex-ROCAF aircraft at JASDF Hamamatsu Kohokan was flown by the Flight Check Group for navaid calibration till phased out on 11 March 1978.

This C-46A was originally built as USAAF C-46A 43-47330. It was transferred to the JASDF on 22 December 1959 and was withdrawn from use on 25 August 1976.

Firing up and raring to go !! A puff of smoke from the exhausts heralds imminent departure. About to taxi out from its parking spot in the area behind Buffalo's hangar at Yellowknife Airport. In September 2015, suffered engine failure en route to Norman Wells. Unable to maintain altitude, a forced landing had to be made - intentionally wheels up - on the short gravel airstrip at Déline in very poor weather conditions. The aircraft considerably overran the runway. The crew evacuated safely, but the aircraft was written off.
