The Heinkel HE 1 (E for Eindecker or monoplane) was designed by Ernst Heinkel as the Caspar S.1 before Heinkel started his own business at Warnemünde in 1922. In Sweden the Heinkel seaplanes were called 'Hansa' as they looked similar to Heinkel's earlier designs for Hansa-Brandenburg.
