This Hip C was previously 831 with the Volksmarine of the Nationale Volksarmee (People's Navy of the National People's Army) where it served with MHG-18. After reunification the Hip became 9412 of the Bundesmarine. It is now on display at the naval museum on the island of Dänholm outside Stralsund in East German colours.
