The TV-2 is a naval variant of the T-33 and are relatively rare today. This example was originally constructed under a USAF contract as T-33A-1-LO 53-5646, but it was the Navy that took delivery of the trainer upon completion in 1955. It officially became a T-33B following the introduction of the tri-service type designation system in September 1962. The plane served in the USN until April 1975, and was on display at NAS Willow Grove near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early 1990s. NEAM acquired the Shooting Star on loan in 1992 and it has recently returned to display after restoration. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
