Blue Impulse 1, 2, 3 and 4 in perfect synchrony above Hamamatsu AB in the afternoon during Air Festa 2019. The Blue Impulse T-4s have a strengthened canopy and main wing leading edge to survive bird strikes as most of the maneuvers are at low altitude. In addition, the rudder movement has been increased in these aerobatic aircraft. Blue Impulse aircraft also carry a ring laser gyroscope (RLG), so sudden movements that could cause the gimbal to lock are eliminated.
