This Lancaster was built in Canada, arriving in England in January 1945. However, after only six months it was returned to Canada and converted to a maritime reconnaissance and rescue role along with various periods in storage and close scrapes with the axeman. In 1986 it crossed the Atlantic again and is now on display in AirSpace at the IWM Duxford. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
