This photo is captioned Daly Waters 1940 but that cannot be the case. After just 9 months with ANA and the start of WW2, VH-ACB was leased to the RAAF as A30-4 and camouflaged. The lease ended in May 1940 and ANA markings reapplied. However the Douglas Aircraft logos applied to the nose and tail at the factory, and seen here, were not reapplied. The photo is at one of the south-eastern Australian airports served by ANA, most likely Essendon or Archerfield. ACB written off in a forced landing near Essendon on April 14, 1943.
