The Elster was the first powered aircraft to be built in Germany in significant numbers after the Second World War . Built by Alfons Putzer KG in Bonn, the prototype made its first flight from Hangelar airfield on November 11th 1957. Early examples were powered by Porsche engines and since 2010 D-ELKY has been owned and flown by the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
