5 Jul 57: TOS USAF and assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing (Heavy) (SAC), Ellsworth AFB, SD. Throughout its career it served with many units and returned to Ellsworth in August 1983 as its last unit. While serving with several units, this plane deployed many times for combat in Vietnam. By April/87: Placed on display with the South Dakota Air & Space Museum at Ellsworth.
