This Sea Vampire is not what it seems! It is really XG770, a British-built aircraft delivered to the RAN in August 1959. After navy service it was sold to a gentleman who gifted it to the Australian War Memorial. With no wartime service, the AWM didn't take delivery of the aircraft and it was subsequently given to the FAA Museum. At various times it has been displayed wearing its own serial, XA101 and, currently, XG766. This photo is copyright © Phil Vabre, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
